We are excited to announce the start of the Skype for Business Mac Public Preview. Commercial customers can request an invite to test the Mac client at. We’ll start by issuing invites to IT administrators to download the client and gradually expand the preview to everyone in the coming weeks. When a meeting has been scheduled and is in progress in Outlook for Mac - Business (2016), it should sync with Skype for Business on Mac (2016) to automatically change status to 'In a Meeting.' This already syncs well on the PC/Windows version of Outlook 2016 and Skype for Business 2016 but not on Apple Mac. I am using Skype for Business for Mac 16.7.175 with Outlook 2016 for Mac 15.34 (170515). I have a couple of issues: 1. Calendar status does not automatically update in Skype for Business for Mac. Preview phase one—Once you sign in, you’ll see your meetings for today and tomorrow, based on your Outlook calendar, displayed in the Skype for Business client. View your meetings schedule. Preview phase two—We’ll be adding instant messaging, presence and contacts in the next preview release coming in early summer. You can continue to use Lync for Mac 2011 side-by-side with Skype for Mac Preview, giving you continued access to messaging and voice features. Preview phase three—We will add telephony and related features later in the summer. What to expect at the Skype for Business Preview site To get started, IT administrators can sign up their organization by visiting the site. Each day, we will issue invitations to IT administrators, with the goal of extending invitations to everyone in the coming weeks. Once an IT administrator downloads the preview client, they can manage its distribution to end users within their organization. Known issues Issue Comment Outlook integration Requirements for Skype for Business and Outlook integration on Mac: • Mac Outlook version 15.28 or later is required. • Skype for Business must be running. • Same user account needs to be signed into Outlook and Skype for Business. Troubleshooting Outlook integration in case Contacts don’t show presence, online meetings fail to schedule, or there is no dial-in information in meeting invitation: • Ensure the user account is the same in Outlook and Skype for Business. • Restart Outlook. • Reinstall Skype for Business on Mac. • Perform clean uninstall of Lync 2011. Can’t see users’ Skype for Business presence in Outlook 2016 for Mac If you have Lync for Mac 2011 installed on the same Mac device, Lync for Mac might have changed the configuration. Recommend that you reinstall Skype for Business on Mac. Can't search Skype directory Skype for Business on Mac users can't search the Skype directory, although you've this functionality for your organization. However, Skype for Business on Mac users can communicate with Skype users if they know the Skype user's Microsoft account.
